coffee and tea dripper

I've made some of the best coffee ever with this, melita #2 filters, and fresh ground (medium grind) coffee. Hot-not-boiling water, pour slowly and stir the grounds periodically.

Two things I wish this had:

* a wider base to fit over my favorite coffee mug
* bigger slits for "see through" - unless the mug is light-colored, it's not really a useful feature, because it's too dark inside the cup.

This is a lovely little coffee maker! I had never seen them before, until I went into a specialty coffee shop. They used this exact brand to brew coffee for their customers all day.

I really wanted a Keurig, but it was a bit pricey and the reviews weren't that great. The idea was to limit coffee waste and maximize taste. This does it!

I heat the water in a kettle, put 3 tablespoons of ground coffee in a Melitta #2 filter, place the ceramic dripper on my cup, and, voila, one excellent cup of coffee. I also will use it to brew directly into my 1-liter Zojirushi Premium Thermal Carafe for the mornings when I want to drink more (same procedure, but I use 1/2 cup of ground coffee). This fits on most of my cups, but will not fit on the jumbo wide mouthed cups.
